This is such a familiar sight for me as I cross the road next to my flat. I love how at dusk the light spills down Hackney Road and through the railway bridge, transforming the grimy city into a golden vista.
Low light, long shadows. It never gets old. Halos! Who doesn’t look good with a halo?! This is just classic my aesthetic, the kind of sight which takes my breath away as I move through the world. Little glimpses of the heavenly in the everyday. Thank heavens for my phone camera, as they invariably happen halfway across a road, where even pausing to take a photo means dicing with death or serious incapacity. My One Hundred Pictures series gives me the opportunity to scroll back through these images and capture them from the relative safety of my dining room table.
