A little while back I had my flat made all fancy. Think vintage Murano chandeliers so big they have to hang over tables. My friend described it as ‘like Marie Antoinette's Bethnal Green pied-à-terre’.
I decided I needed some little artworks for my new kitchen, and that they should be vaguely kitchen related. A lover of condiments, I decided to paint the sachets you come across when buying from a takeaway (which are inevitably a nightmare to open) and that I would paint them on top of some of my most favourite, treasured art postcards.
When I posted some of the finished images on Instagram, a very disgruntled comment delcared them 'pieces of ruination', which, as you can see, has rather stuck...
