The Cricketers (Print)
Giclee print edition of 100 on archival Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper
35 x 35 cm (13.8 x 13.8 inches)
These are the Grenoside cricketers painted years ago capturing them coming off the pitch victorious to partake in small sandwiches in the pavilion.
Grenoside is a village on the outskirts of Sheffield where I went to infant and primary school. My childhood best friend's dad is front and centre in the painting. I remember one time, long ago, the fire engines were called as someone (us?) had left flapjack cooking on the stove. It precipitated a new kitchen. But here the sun shines, it is end of play and all is good in the world.
